Dr. Toufan Aldian Syah, SE., M.E.

Being a leader is considered a valuable opportunity by Dr. Toufan Aldian Syah, SE., M.E. Since taking on his role in mid-2023 as the Head of the Islamic Banking Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Alma Ata University, he believes that integrity is a crucial foundation in navigating life’s dynamics.

Toufan emphasizes, “Being responsible for our roles and maintaining a positive attitude is, in my opinion, the essence of integrity.”

With an educational background in Management from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Jenderal Soedirman University (FEB UNSOED), Toufan pursued his Master’s and Doctoral degrees at the UIN SAIZU Graduate School, focusing on Islamic banking. During his doctoral studies, he was supervised by Prof. Hadri Kusuma, M.B.A, D.B.A, a Professor of Accounting and Finance from the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII).

He believes that studying Islamic banking offers practical applications in everyday life. This includes understanding Sharia principles in finance, setting goals, assessing risks, and making decisions. According to Toufan, these skills are highly useful and can be directly applied by his students.

Toufan views Islamic banking as a field that relies on a deep understanding of Sharia principles and human behavior—essential skills for life. With the rapid developments in this field, he remains actively engaged in learning.

In the digital era, Toufan believes that the support of social media influencers in educating about Islamic financial literacy is highly beneficial, yet also adds challenges to his duties. His ambition is to increase and spread Islamic financial literacy in Indonesia. He also hopes that his study program will continue to improve the educational ecosystem in Indonesia by bridging the gap between theoretical and practical worlds. Toufan is confident that with the support of his colleagues, facilities, and industry partnerships, these dreams can become a reality.
